My guilty pleasure: Buying Pre Loved baby items

Assalamualaikum shopaholic reader,

I have a confession to make:

"Buying Pre Loved baby item is my new hobby hahaha...."

When it all started?
Entah sejak bila hobby baru ku ane mula timbul. I guess it was all started pasal aku rajin membali used novels from Facebook. I mean, sometimes you can get a really good bargain like 3 novels for $15 and so on. And most of the time the novels are actually in a very good condition. As long as it is still readable, I won't bother to buy new ones hehehe....

Then recently I started to buy used baby stuff from social media too. Honestly, barangan preloved for babies nda semuanya buruk. In fact some items are only used once or twice, so it can be reused again for a long time. So far, barangan baby yang selalu aku bali is baju, children's books, shoes and baby box.

Here are some example of my pre loved purchases

Pakaian baby girl

Baby box with pakaian baby boy

Children's books

The good thing about buying a pre loved baby stuff is seller nya usually very generous. Say, aku ada bali 5 pasang baju, they will usually give you 1 or 2 more extra baju for the price of 5 baju. The price of each baju is around $1 - $5 per piece...Menyawang jua amba tu!!

My tips for buying pre loved baby items:

  • Always consider hygiene - Make sure you asked the seller if they keep pet(s) in their house or ada family member yang smoking dalam rumah. Babies have sensitive skin. We don't want bulu haiwan or the smell of tobacco melakat arah barangan baby.

  • You can always ask to view the item first from the seller before purchase e.g. kalau mau bali baju baby make sure buttons and zippers nya masih ada hehehe...

  • I read it somewhere that babies often grow out of shoes too quickly. They barely need one. If parents insisted to dress up baby, opt for a used pair rather than investing on a new one which they will only wore it a few times.

  • Consider your child's safety too. Please check for broken or loose pieces. For example, if you want to buy secondhand toys, please check for chipped paint or loose pieces. This is because toys might contain lead paint and broken toys may caused choking hazards.

  • Check for expiration date. Even furniture, mattress, car seats, playpen and so on, ada expiration date. You may ask the seller bila ia bali his/her car seat. If she say it's from 5 years ago but rarely used....don't just go and buy them. It is already too old!

  • Make sure you thoroughly clean your secondhand purchase before use :)
The video link I posted below is initially talking about buying newborn baby's essential. But I think this video is quite good as well, as the vlogger ada mention pasal hands down baby item.  Please check her video out:

I want to say again, I LOVE....LOVE...LOVE pre loved item!!!! ~ Sangat jimat aku membali. At the same time aku sentiasa beringat jua untuk mengambil langkah-langkah di atas untuk memastikan barangan yang aku bali bukan nya barangan yang rosak.

The tips above not only apply untuk bali barangan baby. Even if we want to buy stuff for our own use, we must always consider hygiene and safety and make sure barangan yang kana jual atu masih lagi berada di dalam keadaan yang baik dan boleh digunapakai.

I hope the tips shared are useful and hope you enjoy reading this post.

Toodles ^____^
